Mommy's B-day Weekend...

We celebrated my birthday at Innsbrook this year (wonder how many b-days I've celebrated there?!). We took a dip in their pool, played with Strobachs at their dock and participated in a Camp Innsbrook craft making mosaic picture frames. I'd say it was a successful birthday... despite the lack of pony rides or magicians.

What's Up, Doc?

Ben grew this carrot from a little seed in his babysitter's garden earlier this summer. He was VERY excited to have it for dinner the other night. He kept saying "this is the very best carrot I've ever had." He did gobble the whole thing up! (Like his new fake smile?!)

School Days-

Ben started Pre-K this year and his first day of school was a good one. He liked "circle time, playing outside, singing songs and meeting new friends." For some reason I felt super-anxious all morning and might have lingered a bit too long in the classroom (not really, but he was ready for me to go right away - a good sign!). He's already too cool for me to take his obligatory first-day-of-school photo, this was the best of the bunch. Here's to a great school year!

Science Center / first date-

We had a great morning at the Science Center with our friends Dillon and Abbie. Ben's a bit smitten with Abbie these days... and so it begins!

Dress Up-

He's feeling MUCH better! So, Ben was busy in my closet pulling some of my clothes. Capris & turtleneck, stripe shirt & jean skirt and shorts & fleece. He's a crack up...

Hand, Foot, Mouth...

Again! But it's nothing a Slurpee couldn't fix.

Waiting for Grampy-

Grampy was in Abu Dhabi for business and Ben was really missing him while he was away. So, on the Sunday after he returned Grampy called Ben to go see a movie, just the two of them. The MINUTE they hung up the phone Joe and I heard the front door open and we were wondering what was going on... even though Ben had two hours to wait he decided to park his stool right by the front door and wait for Grampy to arrive. He was really excited and it was pretty cute.

They saw "Despicable Me" and Ben seemed to love the movie. When he got home he did a drawing of the movie... I was curious what it looked like, so I pulled the pic online. Seems like he had a good memory of what was going on. Also, Ben knows who to take to the movies - he was in heaven with his blue slushy, popcorn and Twizzlers.

I MUST mention that while those two were at the movies Bubba came over and sweated her head off working in the yard with us. It was HOT and we really appreciate all the hard work. The house is looking really good and we're set to list on Aug. 19!!!!! It's true :)
